The Thin Blue Line

As I am certain most of you do as well, I keep looking for things to keep myself busy these days and since I obviously spend a lot of time at home, just me and my PC (and phone, ofc) I though it would be a great idea to watch some TV shows and anime. I actually managed to finish watching a few series and even picked up some I forgot about. I'm just not made for this ongoing thing, I have zero patience. I'm in agony now waiting for the new episode of Killing Eve

And while I've been agonizing, I looked another way. Besides anime that I am not going to write about now, I watched The Thin Blue Line. Not that movie that keeps popping up when you search the title, but the TV show. So let's see what's that line all about.

First of all, The Thin Blue Line is a British TV show that first aired in 1995. What's so great about it is this: it's a British comedy TV show.

        What's going on there?
I can't relate the plot better than KGF Vissers so I'll put it here:
Inspector Raymond C. Fowler is the officer in charge of Gasforth police station, a devoted and integer servant of the crown, and a terrible stickler for rules and all forms of correctness. His second in command, Sergeant Patricia Dawkins, is also his partner and very much in command in all non-police matters, with a nasty tendency to forget her professional place too. The uniform branch is further manned by three Constables: old Trinidadian-born Frank Gladstone, promising foxy Pakistani Maggie Habib and English simpleton Kevin Goody, good friends but constantly arguing and overeager, especially by Fowler's impossibly high standards. They share the station with loudly arrogant but rather stupid and shockingly in-courteous Detective Inspector Derek Grim's CID branch, which further includes Detectives Robert Kray and Gary Boyle. The female mayor is a further worry, the crooks usually cause much less trouble then the permanent cast.

How did I get to watch it?
Well, I enjoyed a lot of clips of A bit of Fry and Laurie on youtube, then I watched some Blackadder clips at the suggestion of youtube, and since I liked Blackadder quite a lot, youtube thought I'd enjoy The Thin Blue Line as well, and oh yes, I did. I enjoyed so much I quickly looked for the whole series online and watched one or two episodes daily. I would have watched more at a time, but the series is only two seasons long, seven episodes each. I might actually re-watch it at some point.

Why am I writing about it?
Because it's hilarious! I wish it would be longer. I enjoyed watching this TV show so much. I liked all of the characters, even those less likeable. The dialogue is so witty and clean and I would not hesitate to use some of Inspector Fowler's lines if the occasion arises. I highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy British comedy. Here's where you can watch the complete series online, along with a steamy hot cup of tea.

If you watched it, please let me know what you think about it. I'd love to hear some opinions since it doesn't seem to be such a popular series.
